Panopticon

$PANOPTIC / Round not started /

Two copies of one open model answer the same questions every hour. A block hash nobody can know yet decides, for each copy, whether a probe reads the activations of layer 18. Then each copy is asked how likely it thinks the reading was.

  • Camera AThe honest probe. It changes nothing, so this one can never be felt.
  • Camera BThe leaky probe. It rounds what it reads, so in principle this one can.

One roundThree steps, in order
<<<1 Announce
Ten minutes before the round the keeper writes a memo on Solana: the round number and a slot that has not happened yet.
<<<2 The bit
When that slot lands, its block hash decides each camera's bit: watch or do not watch. Nobody, the keeper included, could know it when the memo was written.
<<<3 The answer
Each camera answers 16 ordinary questions, then is asked for the probability that its activations were read. A second memo carries both bits, both answers and the hash of the log.

Every round is published whole: the questions, the answers and the two memos.

Camera B, leaky probe Camera A, honest probe, the control Coin flip, 50%

Camera A is the control. If the experiment is clean it stays at a coin flip for ever, whatever it is trained on. The only result that means anything is camera B rising while camera A does not.
